Ingredients:
- Bitter gourd – 2
- Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Tamarind water - 1 cup
- Olive oil or any cooking oil - 2 tsps.
Preparation:
- Chop the bitter gourd. I generally slice the gourd in rings and then remove the inner spongy seeds.
- Soak the cut bitter gourds in tamarind water for few mins, say 10 mins,to remove the excess bitterness.
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan, in low flame.
- Drain the tamarind water from the bitter gourd and add the chilli powder and salt to it and mix well.
- When the oil is hot,add the bitter gourd mixed well with chilli powder and salt.
- Let it become brown.
- Then turn them the other side and cook until both the sides are equally fried and brown in color.
